Microsoft’s Tokyo office in the Minato-ku district is home to many corporate headquarters, embassies, and research facilities. This location operates primarily as a sales office for software, cloud services, and devices, in addition to housing marketing teams and customer support.
Microsoft Japan has decided to place about 2000 smart lockers for its employees and visitors. These lockers are spread over several floors and are placed in a corner for each floor. This ensures that the Vecos smart locker system can be used very efficiently as there is no need to place many LCD terminals (one terminal per 200 lockers). Users can open and close the lockers by means of their company passes but also by using the mobile app.
The Vecos locker system has a number of major advantages for Facility Management:
- Locker can be used on any floor where one wants to work
- Lockers can be assigned to neighbourhoods of legal, HR, finance, etc.
- Maintenance costs are reduced because there is no need to run behind keys, batteries, etc.
- Registering and unsubscribing employees goes automatically.
