Choosing your preferred work space with various design and atmosphere

MOL Campus stands for transparency and openness with its spacious interior and glass surfaces. The building provides highly flexible working environment to its employees by offering a workplace that can be adapted easily to MOL’s future organizational changes as well. Supported by new technical equipment, the working environment enables to be flexible when it is needed.

An inspirational environment

Employees are working in an activity-based working environment (ABW), which means that they are free to choose their workspace depending on the type of the activity they are doing: whether a place is needed to make a confidential phone call, or for a team brainstorming, or a desk for more focused work while still being close to other colleagues.

The result of this working method is more engaged employees with greater empowerment and self-determination. The inspirational environment supports collaboration, cross-functional communication, knowledge transfer and is contributes to faster decision making. In order to ensure smooth daily operation, the building provides services to all employees which results in saving time and effort.

"We were looking for a future-proof smart locker technology supporting our activity-based working model with outstanding user experience. Vecos was selected among the first smart service providers into our smart building ecosystem fulfilling all of our needs. From a functional perspective, we needed a solution supporting QR code, RFID and NFC communication. Also the cloud infrastructure and the central locker management was an important factor during the selection process. We preferred API connection – as we have developed a custom mobile application for our employees to support their everyday life in MOL Campus, and also manage the different type of lockers."

"It is quite unusual for a client to define customer journeys this extensively with us before the signing of the contract. The MOL team put so much energy into it, so early on in the process, which is unique and very commendable.”
Jasper Rietbergen
Onboarding Manager at Vecos

Building a high-rise partnership between MOL and Vecos

MOL required a flexible and smart locker system that could integrate as a subsystem and allow telemetry intake and command & control. A Request for Proposal (RFP) outlined 3 main criteria the locker solution needed to meet:

  • Future-proof: Flexibility to easily adapt to changes in workplace and technology
  • Customization: Technology to tailor the solution to the needs of MOL
  • Innovativeness: Ability to integrate as a subsystem in the Smart Building

Vecos came out the winner. Jasper Rietbergen, Vecos’ onboarding manager, looks back on the extensive collaboration between MOL and Vecos even before the contract was signed. “It is quite unusual for a client to define customer journeys this extensively with us before the signing of the contract,” says Jasper. “The MOL team put so much energy into it, so early on in the process, which is unique and very commendable.”

MOL Group: “Together we organized multiple workshops to go through our demands and Vecos’ abilities. We had all of our stakeholders present and because of Jasper’s experience and know-how, we were able to make decisions on the spot. Even all the way up to the opening of our Campus, we’ve been having weekly 30 minute-meetings with Vecos. Communication is key in such a big project.”

Defining and supporting multiple customer journeys

Jasper: “The Vecos Smart Locker System is an off-the-shelf-solution, with a software configurable to each client’s needs. With this approach of testing and evaluating together, it gave us the time to fully optimize the configuration of our software to MOL’s desired customer journeys.” MOL experienced first-hand how the Vecos software uniquely captures all of these customer journeys, which gave them complete trust in our solution and the confidence to set their internal plan in motion within the rest of the MOL organization.

As being the one and only high-rise building of Budapest, it is expected that people will be curious to come and see. The viewing deck at the top of the building gives visitors the opportunity to see the city from a completely new perspective. And so, personal storage options are needed for different user groups: campus-based employees, non-campus-based employees, business guests, and SkyDeck visitors.

Did you know that the technology behind the Vecos Smart Locker System gives buildings such an advanced locker configuration, that any combination between user (group) and locker (group) is possible? When MOL wants to modify or add new use cases, our system has got them covered.

"The ease of use and flexibility of Vecos Smart lockers offer convenience, security and efficiency like never before. As we managed to seamlessly integrate the solution into our application, our employees can securely store their belongings in smart lockers across MOL Campus. We also provide temporary lockers for tourists and for business visitors as well. Special lockers are supporting our sporty colleagues in our fitness centre and in the bikers’ changing room. We’ll soon launch private parcel service as well with the help of Vecos. What truly sets Vecos apart is their outstanding support during the implementation process: their dedicated team went above and beyond to ensure a smooth transition. Their expertise and commitment to our success had been essential in making this project a resounding success."
Gergely Takács
Employee Experience Product Owner at MOL Group
"Working with the MOL team was very structured. In our weekly meetings we would discuss open points and make sure actions were communicated to the right persons. The MOL team was very proactive in both finding and implementing solutions for any challenges that we faced. They were very thorough in the test cases and user experience as we tested each journey in detail. This is something that we, at Vecos, can only admire and applaud, especially when there are so many different uses of the Vecos lockers like at MOL. Overall, being a big project, I think the help of the MOL team made sure we created a very good implementation experience for the users of the lockers and the teams involved in the installation."
